Thank you for visiting. I am a psychiatrist practicing in Newport Beach in Orange County, who specializes in treating children, adults and families who are experiencing emotional, behavioral or relationship difficulties.

At most times, we are able to find solutions to problems ourselves or with the guidance of friends and families. At other times, life may feel overwhelming. Emotions and behaviors may not be how they used to be. Loss of concentration and clarity of thought and feelings may suffer so much so that sleep, eating and motivation, and concern for others is disrupted. Reasons for such disruption may be from circumstances outside of our control or due to biological changes, or a profound change in relationships or any combination of factors.

For children, significant disruptions in their emotional health may propel them into a downward spiral that affects the rest of their lives. Academic performance, professional achievement, and relationships with family, friends, and acquaintances may all be negatively affected. 

Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists have taken two years of training in addition to their study as Adult Psychiatrists. They are experts at recognizing, diagnosing, and treating emotional and psychological disorders in children and adults. Since psychiatrists are medical doctors, they can recognize when psychological difficulties may be due to medical illnesses and can collaborate effectively with physicians in other specialties to coordinate care as a team.
